We are looking Senior SW Engineer to join the Cellular Modem team. Our team is responsible for delivering the cellular modem to MeeGo devices. Our scope extends from selection of future modems to system design to integration of the modem. The integration is done through upstream opensource projects like oFono.org and Telepathy. We collaborate with industry partners and vendors in creating the MeeGo.com success.
In your role you will contribute to open source projects in our domain. You will use your networking skills to effectively communicate with our partners who also contribute to the projects. You will implement missing functionality and improve robustness of the existing implementation. Refactoring and implementation of automated test cases is part of your daily routine. You are responsible of effective product creation from the given SW asset. Resolving and correcting errors in timely manner is part of the development lifecycle.
The team uses agile software development methodology. The team is responsible for planning, implementation, testing and quality of their deliverables. Previous experience working is this mode is highly appreciated.
To apply for this role, you have a relevant Master’s degree and at least 4 years of SW development experience in product development. In your career thus far, you’ve had the opportunity to work with embedded device creation. Your toolbox of skills includes fluent programming skills in C, C++ and Python in Linux environment. You have proven track record working in an opensource project. You are fluent with Debian and openSUSE toolchains.
Previous experience working in cellular modem integration and broad knowledge on cellular technologies such as LTE is appreciated. Thorough understanding of IMS, VoLTE and other VoIP related technologies will give you an advantage.
You have good communication and presentation skills and can express yourself fluently in written and spoken English as this will prove essential in our international company. As a person you have a proactive and independent way of working and enjoy a changing environment. Some of your colleagues will be located abroad, so taking initiative solving day-to-day issues and excelling in communication is a must.
