Front Page Linux Foundation will not permit apps.meego.com MeeGo is a project of The Linux Foundation, a non-profit organisation which “promotes, protects and standardizes Linux by providing unified resources and services needed for open source to successfully compete with closed platforms”. It provides the hosting and infrastructure for meego.com, as well as owning the overall governance structure and trademarks of the project. apps.meego.com was to be the equivalent of maemo.org's Extras – a place for open source code to be available for multiple MeeGo devices, with a web-based frontend (and on-device client).

Evolution Data Server Recently, MeeGo switched to GNOME’s Evolution Data Server for storage of contacts, calendar, etc, though not for the API, which remains QtContacts, via the qtcontacts-eds backend. To help with that, Openismus has been making e-d-s performance improvements for Intel. For instance, to avoid unnecessary transfer of data across D-Bus.

Jens has been working on the QML UI of Panucci (a resuming podcast and audiobook player for Maemo and MeeGo) to get it working on the N950 and he has recently fixed the Bluetooth headset support on the N950.

I’ve gone beyond the playing with QML stage and now want to port my first Maemo 5 application, Attitude , to Qt Quick; with the aim of having it run on Maemo, Symbian, MeeGo and Android . Development environment I’m using the Qt SDK 1.1 beta on Ubuntu 10.10. I’ll deal with developing with this in another post (Eclipse keybindings, the combination of graphical and source editing (and the limitations therein), issues to bear in mind).
