Some days ago I was writing about how to have mixed QML/C++ objects in a QML application, but I faced a problem with the code that I had written. And the problem was that I needed to receive some events and from the QML elements I was loading.

I keep hearing about how great QML is to learn so I’m a bit baffled as to why I am still having such a hard time with getting more than a toy program written.

Yoann Lopes blogged recently about Text Rendering in the QML Scene Graph using distance field alpha testing. This technique brings smoothly scalable fonts with fast OpenGL rendering to Qt5. Distance field is of course not limited for just fonts (although they are the most usual use-case), same technique can be used also with suitable images

Jens has been working on the QML UI of Panucci (a resuming podcast and audiobook player for Maemo and MeeGo) to get it working on the N950 and he has recently fixed the Bluetooth headset support on the N950.

My little app Music Shelf is a MeeGo music player that aims to be simple, easy, and good-looking. It is the proud winner of the 1st WeTab Qt App Challenge in category Entertainment with 67% of votes. Now that the challenge is won, I’m working to target other MeeGo platforms besides the WeTab as well
